this week offers much contemplation

a time for grateful pondering -- to honor

all the meaning found in death, in life

time for reflection on one most holy life

a gift first cheered at Christmas time

whose justice, love and mercy, modeled 

so many years ago, teaches on today

Love - not even squelched in death

Christ, the Way, walks with us yet

with thoughts that beat deep in

our souls to guide us home

Savour the Savior

embrace the gift

whose life brought

heaven to earth

whose Presence turns

deep sadness into joy

as surely as a seed will die

in bringing forth a flower

The meaning of Christmas is embedded in Easter

and in life lessons demonstrated by Christ

Jesus taught with words,

with action and with attitude

showing love, respect and mercy

modeling dignity and justice for all

Secret - A Poem A Day -1.

~~Secret Honor~~

Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus

two secret followers of Jesus, came

the evening of the crucifixion armed

with 75 lbs of myrrh and aloes to

prepare Christ’s body. Together

wrapped him in strips of linen

with spices and laid him in

a new tomb in a garden

near the cross for
Burial
