Snow Reflection

 ~ Snow Reflection ~

The world seems oddly lit tonight as if

the moon - so full and bright last night

hanging high in a clear cloudless sky

as if that brilliant orb’s determination

is to beam through the heavy gray

clouds blocking it tonight following

today’s storm which painted every

surface white again after the melt

of yesterday. I view it all through

ice coated windows as snow still

falls, swirls around a frozen scene

a winter wonderland which plans

to grow over the weekend with

even more snow on the way

March Snow

 ~ March Snow ~

Snow. I know. It’s March

t’will soon be Spring

yet snow is falling

heavily and fast

burying green

grass, blowing

sticking onto

every limb

each twig

encasing

everything

But it’s not meant to last

It’s March! t’will soon be Spring!

Sunroom

A quick sketch this morning on settling in  - Enjoy!

~ Sunroom ~

On bright mornings it’s my

sunroom other days, my parlor

the sweet small second bedroom

I’ve turned into a den has fast

become my favorite spot

to write and ponder in

to curl up with a book

and dream

In my new surroundings

I steadily discover

day by day at

work or play

unexpected

sunny rays

delivering

new joy!

Snow Melt

~  Snow Melt ~

Sitting in a favorite chair

staring through the window

at heavy,  glistening drops of

snowmelt cascading from the

roof - shining in bright sunlight

Window Prisms

seen as a sparkling promise:

Spring is just around the bend!

In the distance,  treetops sway

assisted by these icy winds of March

today’s bright sun can melt the snow away

and soon it will be warm and green again

Sweet Moments

~ Sweet Moments Found In Poetry ~

There is a certain kind of magic

in the writing, in the reading

a certain kind of magic

tucked between the lines

A poem read from long ago and far away

can carry echoes of a fond rendezvous

of youth or hints of yearnings floating

just beneath the heart in wonder

Words to remind of love now lost

to gently revive the memory of

what it felt like to be another’s

special heart. Another’s One

New Normal

~ New Normal ~

In the flood of grief, of loss

when your old identity has died

small gifts will eventually appear

floating on the wake of fear

each unsought gift

an invitation to a smile

to try new ways of doing

a new manner of being

a fresh new identity

for a newly minted you

Birthday Reflection

~ CELEBRATING 85 ~

another year older

another day deeper in

life changing encounters

adding depth & abundance

to every tomorrow as insight

increases and wisdom seeps

in through aging perception

from lifelong experience

of joys and of sorrows

gaining and losing

learning from all
