Gray Whale

~ Gray Whale ~

A great gray whale glides through the heavens

as I look up at it’s dark underbelly 

I see it towing more storm clouds

along with pinkish remnants of the 

evening sky.  

A sunset’s glancing effort 

on this windy hour just before the wild weather forecaste to end this 80ish spring day and drop the temps by 50 degrees with hail and misery

Nearing Ninety

~ Nearing Ninety ~

When I am old and living alone

I’ll coffee all morning until I am done. 

then read all the day 

and write when I want

until I prop on the bed

to watch the dark fall

and read me a story as if I were small
