Embracing Solitude

I tell myself it will be ok
We’ll know more another day
We’ll find new ways to work it out
We talk and brainstorm quietly

Often I speak to myself at tea
Considering who I’ll be today
What I’ll do and how I’ll play
Who might call or stay away

Hours I spend with just we three
Me, myself and the schemes we dream

While the willow tree sweeps back and forth

just beyond my lovely porch

Sometimes we ponder books I’ve read
And work at writing insights found
Mostly to simply clarify, yet
Sometimes to share the
Joys abounding all
Around our life
